ABOUT:
This website was made for Diné youth, in response to the constant struggle to keep Navajo (Diné) culture alive and well.
The influence of western culture and modern convenience has brought a large amount of lifestyle options for Navajo youth to pursue, in which traditional Navajo teachings and life philosophies become neglected. Through choosing modern convenience and western ideologies without putting any effort into learning one’s own history, the individual loses an awareness, uniqueness, power and connection that culture can give them and all who will come after them.
MISSION:
The Navajo philosophy of life continuing on to the next generation, I believe, will come from helping today’s Navajo youth gain more awareness about life and the opportunities ahead of them, while using Navajo teachings and values to guide them on their path. Many of their goals and aspirations in life may be far outside the sacred mountains but the discipline, courage, humility, and strength that is needed to reach those goals will be developed through traditional Navajo ceremonies, philosophies and teachings.
YOU:
On this site, visitors have a chance to share their knowledge, learn about Navajo culture, and take part in a larger community.

I would like to learn more about the Yei, and if he/she is a spiritual guide. My granddaughter has been seeing spirits since she was a baby and when she began talking she told us a story about the Yei, she mentions it from time to time when she sees him, she is only 8 years old and does not talk about it so much anymore, yesterday she mentioned if the dead can twist side to side. She likes to role play healing people. We have not told her anything about the Navajo, we are of Mexican descent, we found out that her great grandmother was a healer in Mexico
